Garbage dumps between settlements are breeding stench and diseases: Chairman New Karachi Town

New Karachi Town Chairman Muhammad Yousuf has expressed serious concern over the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board’s failure to maintain cleanliness, which is endangering the health of residents.

Muhammad Yousuf demanded that the Sindh government dissolve the board and hand over the sanitation duties back to the local authorities, citing the competence of the existing sanitation departments. He said that if even half of the town’s budget is received, New Karachi Town can be kept clean. He appealed to Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah to intervene and rid the residents of New Karachi Town of garbage and stench.
