Gas Explosion in Kuala Lumpur: Pakistani Nationals Lauded for Courageous Rescue Efforts

Five Pakistani nationals were recognized for their courageous efforts following a gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, near Kuala Lumpur. The incident triggered a massive fire, prompting several residents, including children, to jump into a nearby canal for safety, unaware of the lurking dangers.

Despite perilous conditions, the Pakistani heroes plunged into the flames and canal, rescuing numerous individuals. Their valiant actions have garnered widespread acclaim throughout Malaysia.

During a reception to honor their bravery, attended by officials including Deputy High Commissioner Rajil Mohsin and Head of Chancery Ameer Hassan Butt, the Malaysian Government, local citizens, and the Pakistani High Commission expressed their gratitude.

Khasta Nawab, one of the rescuers, shared that their actions were motivated by the Islamic teaching that equates saving a life to saving all of humanity.

The recognition ceremony concluded with the presentation of commendation certificates. Dato’ Seri Babar Shehzad, a notable leader of the Pakistani community in Malaysia, awarded cash prizes, commending their bravery and contribution to Pakistan’s honor.
