Gilani says no compromise on identity, religion, honour

Srinagar, October 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani while appealing to the people of the Kashmir valley, Jammu region and Laddakh to remain united like a rock has reiterated that they would never compromise their identity, religion and honour. Syed Ali Gilani.

In his message received by the Kashmir Media Service from Srinagar, the veteran leader expressed the confidence that the unparalleled sacrifices of the people of Kashmir would never go waste and the freedom of Kashmir is destined to dawn soon. He urged all Kashmiri politicians to desist from becoming collaborators of India in its nefarious designs against the Kashmir people.

Syed Ali Gilani asked Kashmiri policemen not to facilitate India in order to save their mothers, sisters and brothers from becoming slaves of dirty Hindutva philosophy. He said that resistance calendar for all segments of the society would be issued soon to intensify the movement. Syed Ali Gilani urged Hurriyat leaders to remain glued with the general masses and guide them in their struggle against Indian occupation.

Meanwhile, as Indian military’s inhuman siege entered 58th day today, internet and mobile phone connectivity continue to remain snapped, shops, schools and offices closed and public transport off the roads. Indian forces’ presence in every nook and corner of the occupied territory has created an atmosphere of fear and terror. Though the schools up to the 10th level have already been opened and the occupation authorities are trying their best to bring the schools to function normally but their efforts have not borne fruit as most parents continue to keep their children confined at home due to prevailing grim situation in the territory.

Senior Congress leader and former puppet Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that an environment of fear is prevailing in the territory and people are suffering due to the government made disaster. He added that all sections of society in the territory have been affected by the recent Indian actions as business has come down to zero and normal life is crippled, rejecting the authorities’ claims that all restrictions have been removed.

The Communist Party of India-Marxist has said that the announcement of holding the BDC polls in IOK by the Election Commission is just an attempt to portray to the world that normalcy prevails there when, in fact, for the last two months, there has been an unprecedented clampdown on communications, movement of citizens and a continued incarceration of political leaders and activists. The party added the elections to the BDCs in such a situation will be nothing but a sham and a travesty of justice.
