LOWER DIR: A wall of a Lower Dir school caved in on Monday burying several children under its debris while the rescuers pulled out dead body of a girl.

According to police, the wall of a under construction building of the Government Primary School, Dapur collapsed and several students were buried under it. After getting information of the incident, the rescue teams rushed to the venue and started pulling out children trapped under the fallen wall. They also retrieved body of a girl student who died in the incident.

The administration imposed an emergency in the Lal Qila Hospital whereas the rescue efforts were going on. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan took serious notice of the incident and ordered Malakand commissioner to immediately send him the investigation report of the wall collapse.

He also directed the administration to provide best medical facilities to the injured students. He expressed hope that the rescue team would be able to safely retrieve children trapped under the debris of collapsed wall. He said that strict punishment would be awarded to those responsible for using substandard construction material.

Separately, five people received critical injuries when their car fell into a gorge. Reportedly, a car skedded off the road in Dogal area of Patrak in Upper Dir and fell into a ditch. As a result, five people got seriously injured. They were shifted to Patrak Hospital.
