Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, underscored Pakistan’s urgent need to strategically implement Artificial Intelligence, highlighting its critical role in national development and its dual potential to combat misinformation while simultaneously requiring strong ethical oversight.
Addressing a diverse audience of educators, policymakers, media professionals, and students as the Chief Guest at the AI X Future Summit 2025 today, held at Bahria University, Chaudhry positioned AI not as a distant concept but as a “defining force of the present.”
He affirmed the government”s commitment to embedding digital innovation into its core agenda, referencing the National Economic Transformation Plan (Uraan Pakistan 2024-2029) as a framework for promoting technologydriven governance as a pillar of national progress.
Barrister Chaudhry articulated that artificial intelligence offers substantial promise for advancing transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity within public institutions. He specifically cited its potential to revolutionize information dissemination, media regulation, and citizen engagement.
The Parliamentary Secretary also addressed the responsible evolution of media in the age of AI. He noted its capacity to enhance public trust by fighting false narratives, but cautioned that this potential must be balanced with the establishment of robust ethical frameworks and dedicated crosssector collaboration to prevent misuse.
