Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb today reaffirmed the government’s resolve to advance green finance initiatives, signaling a significant policy direction towards environmental sustainability and the regulation of emerging technologies.
Speaking with a delegation led by International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) President Jean Bouquot, the minister emphasized the implementation of a national green taxonomy and the roll-out of comprehensive sustainability frameworks, according to official information today.
Mr. Aurangzeb also noted the need to support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in formalizing their financial reporting practices, a move aimed at enhancing overall economic transparency.
Furthermore, the finance minister highlighted Pakistan”s proactive regulatory direction concerning digital assets and new technologies. He indicated that new institutional structures are being established to bring innovation into the formal, transparent, and compliant economy.
