Government to construct dams to provide cheap electricity: Abdul Razzak Dawood

Islamabad, June 10, 2020 (PPI-OT): Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razzak Dawood has said the Government is working to construct dams to provide cheap electricity to people. Talking to a private TV channel, he said price of electricity in the country has been too high for the last thirty years and availability of cheap electricity to masses is needed.

Razzak Dawood expressed hope that the matter of Independent Power Producers (IPPs) will be resolved soon. The adviser said the upcoming budget of 2020-21 will be different from past as COVID-19 has caused huge gap in the import and exports leading to decrease in revenue. He said the government is paying full attention to increase the exports.
