Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said today that the present era is the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and equipping children and young people with modern technology has become an urgent necessity. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference after inaugurating the AI Summer Camp for children at the Governor House.
The Governor of Sindh said that Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision places special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, and that concrete measures are being taken to promote the sector. He added that talented children and young people would not be left behind due to a lack of resources; instead, they would be provided with equal access to modern education and advanced technology.
He said that the laptop scheme introduced by former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was a landmark initiative to connect young people with modern education, while the AI Summer Camp is another important step in the same direction. He added that by providing AI education to talented children in Karachi, they were being equipped to meet the challenges of the future.
Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi said that today’s children would lead Pakistan’s Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence revolution in the years ahead. He added that his dream was to see every child in Sindh equipped with modern education and playing a meaningful role in building a developed, progressive, and prosperous Pakistan.
He further said that, under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal, Pakistan’s stature had been elevated on the global stage, and that the younger generation would further enhance the country’s reputation through its talent and achievements. He added that children are the nation’s identity and future, and therefore they should be provided with the best opportunities to learn, innovate, and develop their skills, even during school vacations.
The Governor of Sindh announced that admission to the AI Summer Camp would be granted strictly on merit to every child who knows how to use a mobile phone. He said that the objective of the camp was to transform children’s summer vacations into a productive period focused on learning, creativity, innovation, and skill development.
He further stated that the Prime Minister’s vision is to significantly increase Pakistan’s exports, and that a technologically skilled younger generation would play a pivotal role in achieving this national objective.
