Govt Launches Ambitious AI Up-skilling Programme Targeting One Million Youth

The government has initiated a comprehensive nationwide up-skilling programme, “AI Seekho 2026,” with the ambitious goal of training one million young individuals in artificial intelligence.

The programme is designed to provide participants with significant economic prospects by linking them with National Incubation Centres, the Pakistan Startup Fund, and various global platforms.

Minister for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima, underscored the nation’s commitment to artificial intelligence, confirming its central priority status and the development of the country’s inaugural National AI Policy.

She further articulated the government’s objective to educate a million youth in AI, specifically ensuring the inclusion of non-technical individuals. Under the “AI Seekho” banner, the Ministry of IT, in collaboration with Google, has also established a separate objective to enhance the skills of over one hundred thousand developers.
