Govt to Deploy Technology in Bid to Ease Strain on Major Hospitals

The federal government has articulated a strategy aimed at alleviating the significant patient burden on the nation’s principal hospitals by enhancing healthcare services at the local level, according to the Minister for National Health Services, Mustafa Kamal.

Speaking at an event in the capital today, the minister affirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering improved medical facilities directly to communities, according to a report today.

A central component of this initiative involves the integration of technology to oversee and assess the operational performance of basic health units.

Mr Kamal noted that strengthening these foundational healthcare centres is anticipated to provide accessible care closer to people”s homes, thereby reducing the need for patients to travel to larger, often overcrowded, urban medical institutions.
