Govt to provide 2,000 motorboat engines to Gwadar fishermen

Gwadar: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Friday while addressing an event in Gwadar, Balochistan that the government would provide 2,000 boat engines free of cost to the fishermen of Gwadar on merit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

He reiterated that the problems of Gwadar would be solved wholeheartedly, adding: “We will not sit idle until the issues faced by Gwadar are resolved.”

He also said, “We will solve the problems of the fishermen and provide them 2,000 boat engines free of cost. The engines will be provided to them on merit.”

The prime minister also vowed to provide 100 MW of electricity to Gwadar, adding that funds worth of Rs100 billion had been earmarked in the budget for Gwadar.

Shehbaz announced the provision of 200 acres of land for the establishment of a residential colony for the fishermen of Gwadar besides the distribution of 2,000 motorboat engines to help them earn a livelihood.
