ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is taking prudent measures for bringing foreign exchange in country through legitimate channels.
Talking to Chairperson of Arab Monetary Fund Fahad M. Alturki here in Islamabad on Thursday, he termed digitization of economy and e-commerce sector as the topmost priority of the government.
He said the development of digital connectivity between Pakistan and the Middle East with the cooperation of Buna-Raast is a good omen.
Highlighting the advantages of Buna-Raast connectivity project, the Prime Minister said it will not only play an essential part in making digital transactions more effective in the country but this project will regulate the flow of remittances and improve the digital governance system.
Terming Buna-Raast connectivity project as a reflection of shared vision, Shehbaz Sharif said that this land- mark initiative aims to facilitate our fellow Pakistanis in the Arab world to quickly send their remittances in the country.
On his part, Fahad M. Alturki said Pakistan is the first country outside the Arab world to join the Arab Monetary Fund’s project Buna-Raast. He said the economy of both sides will develop with mutual cooperation and trust through Buna-Raast.
