Guard killed, PPP leader injured in armed attack in Larkana

LARKANA: A guard was killed and local Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader injured when unidentified men opened fire at the house in Thari Chutto village of Kanga police station near Larkana on Sunday.

According to police, the incident occurred owing to a dispute between two rival gangs of the Jatoi community in a Larkana village. The armed men opened fire on the guest house of PPP leader Amir Zeb Jatoi resulting in the death of his guard Mujahid Bhurgri and serious injuries to him.

The body and injured PPP leader was shifted to Chandka Medical College Hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical. The assailants fled the scene after swift operation. The police have launched a search for the attackers.

Amir Zeib’s guards alleged that Dr Sikandar Jatoi, his sons Zaman Khan, and Hadi Bakhsh Khan Jatoi along with their armed companions stormed the house of Amir Zeib Jatoi and opened fire with modern weapons. As a result of which his private guard Mujahid Bhargari was killed and he himself was injured.

The Kanga police said that the incident occurred due to a property issue. No case could be filed till filing this information. A tense situation prevailed in the area due to the incident while there was a mourning atmosphere in the house of the victims.
