Gujranwala’s products are of global standard, holding an expo in Karachi is a welcome move: Sindh Governor

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi highlighted the key role of the city’s industrialists in the national economy, describing Gujranwala’s products as being of “global standard” and an important part of Pakistan’s international identity.

The governor expressed his views to the media today after the formal inauguration of the “Made in Gujranwala Expo 2026”. He praised the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their vision, stating that such exhibitions play a crucial role in advancing industrial development.

He emphasized that hosting trade fairs in the country’s economic hub, Karachi, creates new opportunities for business personalities and the trading community, thereby strengthening the national economy.

Upon his arrival at the Karachi Expo Center, the governor was warmly welcomed by the President and other officials of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The reception included a cultural event where renowned wrestler Muhammad Umar presented the governor with a traditional turban and a mace was presented on behalf of other wrestlers.

After the inauguration, the provincial head visited various stalls and conducted a detailed inspection of the items on display. He particularly praised the high quality of items related to the industrial and construction sectors.

At the end of the ceremony, the President of the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented a commemorative shield to the Sindh Governor.
