Speaking to the participants, Dr Qaisar Sajjad said health and education sectors had been badly neglected by the federal and provincial governments in the past. He lamented that there was no space for health awareness programs in mainstream media chancels and only political talkshows were being aired during prime time.

Dr Sajjad said that the mainstream and local media could play a big role to solve health related problems of the society. He suggested airing health awareness programs in channels to address issues linked with public health.

TV Anchor Sana Hashmi said scores of children die due to malnutrition and polluted water in Sindh and other provinces. She said joint efforts were needed to resolve public health issues.
