(Health): Sindh Health Department planning to introduce COVID-19 screening in educational institutes

Karachi: Sindh Health Department is planning to introduce Coronavirus screening in all educational institutes of Sindh province and also to check implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by authorities concerned.

A senior official at Sindh Health Department while talking to PPI, said in order to curb the spreading of Covid-19 and ensure the safety of children and teaching staff, the health department is considering to launch a free COVID-19 screening for educational institutions of Sindh.

After opening of educational institutions in the province, health department is also making plan to constitute teams comprised on health experts to check the implementation of SOPs in schools, colleges and universities to avoid the spread of novel coronavirus disease.

The teams will ensure proper implementation of health guidelines such as washing the hands with soap, wearing masks and gloves, social distancing and use of sanitizer to keep the coronavirus at bay. The teams will also check implementation on all the SOPs set by the authorities but it is also the responsibility of parents, schools teachers and students to ensure the compliance with SOPs to avoid spread of coronavirus.
