Heavy rain wreaks havoc in coastal town of Pasni

Pasni: Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in the coastal town of Pasni in Balochistan on Sunday, submerging roads, streets, and residences.

According to rescue officials, as rainwater cascaded through the town’s thoroughfares, displacing residents from their homes and businesses.

An official report said a total of 89.1 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Pasni over a four-hour period, exacerbating the flooding and disrupting normal life in the region.

The adverse weather conditions underscore the importance of preparedness and response mechanisms in coastal regions prone to heavy rainfall, with authorities urging residents to remain vigilant amid the ongoing inclement weather.

Meteorological Department Quetta Regional Center has forecast that heavy torrential rains may generate flash floods in local nullas of Labella, Kalat, Khuzdar, Zarat, Barkhan, Zhob, Chaman, Karezat, PIshin, Sherani, Muslim Bagh, Kech(Turbat), Harnal, Kohlu, Naseerabad, Jafarabad, Chagal, Panjgur, and Gwadar.

The authorities have been advised to remain alert during the forecast period. More rains may cause landsliding in Zhob, Harnal, Ziarat, Karezat, PIshin, Chaman districts.
