HEC’s Quality Assurance Workshops for Punjab Higher Education Institutions Begin

LAHORE: The Progress Review Meeting and Consultative Workshop for Understanding and Effective Implementation of Pakistan’s Precept, Standards, and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (PSG-2023) has begun at the higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Punjab.

As the third part of the series of workshops HEC is conducting across four regions of the country, the first consultative meeting for the Punjab region is held at Forman Christian College (a chartered university), Lahore.

This significant event is being held in collaboration with Forman Christian College University. The consultative workshop signifies a pivotal step forward in advancing quality assurance practices and transforming the HEIs across Pakistan. Esteemed dignitaries and representatives of Quality Enhancement Cells of various educational institutions, including Rector FCCU Dr. James Addleton; Registrar FCCU Dr. Nayer Fardows, and Director General, Quality Assurance HEC, Mr. Nasir Shah, are participating in this workshop. Their presence underscores a collective commitment to enhancing the quality of education through effective implementation of PSG-2023.

Following a welcome note by Dr. James Addleton, Mr. Nasir Shah shared the significance of the workshop in understanding and implementing PSG-2023. He provided a comprehensive overview of the workshop’s objectives and initiatives aimed at ensuring adherence to quality standards across HEIs. He elaborated on the multifaceted benefits of PSG-2023 and emphasised how quality assurance frameworks contribute to maintaining and elevating educational standards, enhancing the reputation of HEIs both nationally and internationally, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

The consultative workshops will continue until May 18, 2024, and will serve as a platform to promote understanding and effective implementation of PSG-2023, highlighting its pivotal role in upholding and enhancing educational standards across Pakistan.
