Authorities in Balochistan thwarted a major smuggling attempt on Thursday, seizing foreign liquor and vehicles worth over one hundred thousand US dollars during an intelligence-based operation.
A press release issued today by the Pakistan Coast Guards confirmed that its personnel intercepted an illegal consignment comprising 3361 bottles of high-quality foreign liquor. The contraband was recovered from five vehicles stopped in the areas of Orman Bela, Uthal, and Gadani.
According to the official statement, the operation was conducted based on credible information regarding the inland smuggling of narcotics. The entire consignment of liquor and the vehicles used in it have been taken into official custody.
The agency has initiated legal proceedings regarding the seizure.
The spokesperson for the maritime law enforcement agency said that such operations are part of the Pakistan Coast Guards’ commitment to stabilizing the country’s economy by curbing the smuggling of narcotics and all other illegal items.
