Renowned nuclear physicist Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy asserted that the youth of Pakistan possess abundant talent but require proper guidance and opportunities to compete on an international level, during an address at the University of Turbat.

Speaking at an interactive session, the distinguished educationist stressed that quality education, advanced research, and innovation are indispensable for the nation”s progress. He visited the university on the personal invitation of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan.

Dr. Hoodbhoy urged learners to pursue knowledge with dedication, not merely as a route to employment but as a means to cultivate intellect, curiosity, and creativity. He stated that such a pursuit is essential for contributing to the development and dignity of the country.

His discussion covered a range of contemporary topics, including artificial intelligence, astrophysics, human creativity, and quantum computing, providing faculty and students with insights into modern scientific frontiers.

Following his talk, Dr. Hoodbhoy engaged in a question-and-answer session with the attendees. On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor Dr. Hanif Ur Rehman presented the guest speaker with a commemorative shield to honor his visit.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Hoodbhoy met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Gul Hasan, who briefed him on the academic advancements, infrastructure development, and various challenges faced by the institution. Senior university officials, including Registrar Ganguzar Baloch and Director PR Ijaz Ahmed, also attended the meeting.

The visit concluded with a tour of the campus facilities, during which Dr. Hoodbhoy inspected the library, computer and chemistry labs, and several classrooms, taking the opportunity to interact directly with students.
