Hot and dry weather spell in Pakistan; rain likely in northern areas

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, most parts of the country will experience a hot and dry weather spell during the next 24 hours. Temperatures are expected to rise in most parts of the country, while partly cloudy weather and chances of light rain and thunderstorms with gusty winds are expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

On Monday morning, the temperature in Islamabad was recorded at 23°C, Lahore and Karachi 28°C, Peshawar 26°C, Quetta 17°C, Gilgit 13°C, Murree 16°C and Muzaffarabad 21°C.

The Meteorological Department also issued a forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, according to which the weather is likely to remain partly cloudy and dry in Srinagar, Jammu, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla. Dry weather is expected in Leh. This morning, the temperature in the occupied territory was recorded at 26°C in Jammu, Shopian and Baramulla, 15°C in Srinagar, 7°C in Leh and 25°C in Pulwama and Anantnag.
