Hot and humid weather in most parts of the country, forecast of strong winds, thunder, and rain in northern regions including Kashmir

The Meteorological Department has forecasted today that vast areas of the country will experience intense heat and unbearable humidity in the coming days. While many areas are bracing for severe weather, the northern regions, including Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northeastern Punjab, may experience relief in the form of strong winds, thunder, and rain.

As temperatures rise, morning temperatures in major cities reflect the onset of a heatwave. Islamabad recorded a warm 26°C, while Lahore topped the chart at 32°C. Karachi was not far behind at 30°C, adding to the discomfort for its residents.

Meanwhile, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, and Quetta each reported a moderate 25°C. Gilgit began the day at 24°C, while Murree enjoyed a relatively cool morning at 17°C.

Expected thunder in the north is anticipated to provide much-needed relief from the heat, although storms may disrupt daily activities. Residents of these areas are advised to stay informed of weather conditions and plan accordingly.

As the country grapples with various weather conditions, authorities urge citizens to take precautions against heat-related health issues and stay vigilant in areas where severe weather is forecasted.
