Following a devastating incident that claimed three lives, the Government of Balochistan has imposed an immediate and comprehensive ban on bathing, swimming, and all recreational activities in the Hub River area for a period of sixty days.
According to an official report today, the directive, issued by the provincial Home Department on Monday, May 4, 2026, explicitly prohibits engaging in any water-based leisure activities within the designated areas of the river flowing through Hub.
This decisive action comes in the wake of a recent tragedy on the Hub River, where three individuals unfortunately lost their lives. Authorities have underscored the severity of the situation that necessitated such an urgent intervention.
Beyond the general prohibition, the order specifically forbids unauthorised individuals from entering hazardous sections of the waterway. Violators of this mandate will face stringent legal consequences under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Effective instantly, the restrictions are slated to remain in force for two months. Instructions have been dispatched to the Deputy Commissioner, local police, and other relevant law enforcement bodies to ensure rigorous adherence to the new regulations.
