Srinagar, February 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have eulogized the sacrifices of prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt Muhammad on his martyrdom anniversary, today. Hurriyat leader and the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Zhairman, Zafar Akbar Butt in a statement in Srinagar paid glorious tributes to the martyrs and demanded the return of mortals remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru to their families.
Spokesman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a statement in Srinagar reiterated demand for the return of mortal remains of the martyrs to Kashmir for burial. A party delegation led by Engineer Farooq visited Trehgam, the native place of Maqbool Butt, today, and paid homage to both Butt and Guru.
Ummat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir and Islami Tanzeem Azadi in their statements in Srinagar paid rich tributes to Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru and said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would bring fruit.
Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Firdous Ahmad Shah and other Hurriyat leaders also paid tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru on their anniversaries. Meanwhile, Anjuman Sharie Shian President, Agha Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement denounced the arrests of Hurriyat leaders and activists during protests on Muhammad Maqbool Butt’s anniversary, today.
