Illegal Refilling Centre Blast; PTI Cites Governmental Negligence

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh and Vice President Rizwan Niazi on Thursday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic gas cylinder explosion in the densely populated Gul Rehana Colony of Soldier Bazaar,Karachi which claimed 16 lives, and many injured calling it an irreparable and heartbreaking tragedy.

In a statement on Thursday, PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh and Vice President Rizwan Niazi described the incident in the densely populated Gul Rehana Colony as an “irreparable and heartbreaking tragedy.”

The party leaders squarely blamed the Sindh government and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for the lethal event, attributing it to “criminal negligence and poor oversight.” They asserted that unauthorised gas cylinder refilling shops operating throughout the city pose a persistent and grave danger to public safety.

Haleem Adil Sheikh labelled the loss of 16 lives a “national tragedy” and demanded the immediate identification and prosecution of those responsible. He urged a swift crackdown on all substandard and hazardous cylinder refilling points, stressing that safeguarding citizens” lives and property is the foremost duty of the state.

Echoing these concerns, Rizwan Niazi questioned the “patronage” allowing such illegal centres to function and called for an impartial and transparent investigation into the explosion. He insisted that the inquiry”s findings be made public and that those endangering innocent lives face exemplary punishment.

The PTI leadership extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. They called upon the authorities to provide immediate financial assistance to the victims” relatives and to ensure the injured receive free and the best possible medical care.

Sheikh and Niazi affirmed that the PTI stands in solidarity with the affected families during this hour of grief and shares in their sorrow.
