Illegal rickshaw stands a nuisance for industrialists: NKATI

KARACHI: President, North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), Faisal Moiz Khan, while expressing concern over the Chingchi rickshaws abound in North Karachi Industrial Area, and asked DIG Traffic Karachi to remove illegal rickshaws on signals so that the flow of traffic is not affected and delivery of export goods along with supply of raw materials to industries can be made possible without delay.

NKATI president drew the attention of DIG Traffic to the constant traffic jams and the occupation of Chingchi rickshaws on signals, saying that the worst traffic jams often occur on the entrances and exits of North Karachi Industrial Area, as there are Chingchi rickshaw abound on the roads and on signals. Due to which the supply of raw materials in factories and delivery of export goods are delayed.

“The Chingchi rickshaw pullers have been occupied due to lack of attention from the traffic police. Large number of Chingchi rickshaws are parked on main roads of North Karachi Industrial Area, which can lead to a major accident. Trawlers and trucks are used to transport raw materials to factories and to ship goods from factories to ports. Chingchi rickshaws often cause trawlers and vehicles to get stuck on signals, making it difficult for manufacturers to reach their factories”, he pointed out.

Faisal Moiz Khan requested DIG Traffic Karachi to take notice of traffic jams on entrances and exits of North Karachi Industrial, and ensure an end to illegal Changchi rickshaw stands. In order to ensure the supply of raw materials to the industries without any delay or hindrance and timely completion of export orders. NKATI will extend all possible cooperation in this regard.
