The restoration of Zubair Bin Al-Uloom Park and Saad Bin Abi Waqqas Park by Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town were inaugurated by the opposition leader of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Saifuddin Advocate, along with the Chairman of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Dr. Fawad Ahmed.
Local residents expressed their happiness over this initiative and thanked the municipal representatives. The inauguration ceremony was attended by opposition leader Advocate Saifuddin, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami East District Naeem Akhtar, Chairman of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Dr. Fawad Ahmed, Vice Chairman of UC 7 Aslam Kalmati, UC Councillor Talha Janood, Chairman of UC 4 Fayyaz Al-Huda, Vice Chairman of UC 5 Asif Hassan, and Vice Chairman of UC 8 Asif Abdul Karim, among other elected municipal representatives.
In his address at the ceremony, Advocate Saifuddin stated that Jamaat-i-Islami has restored over 150 parks and illuminated more than 50,000 streetlights in a year and a half. He mentioned that the performance of the People’s Party is negligible and that they are not willing to work in our areas.
Emir of East District Naeem Akhtar said that the municipal performance of JI has been exemplary in 9 towns of Karachi, and the public will soon witness more development projects.
Chairman of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Dr. Fawad Ahmed mentioned that the journey of public service continues despite limited resources. He informed that in a year and a half, 18 parks have been restored, over 8,000 streetlights have been installed and repaired, and 500,000 square feet of roads have been resurfaced.
At the end of the ceremony, a tree plantation campaign was conducted, and participants planted saplings to promote eco-friendly initiatives. On this occasion, Director Parks Ghulam Rasool, Deputy Director Parks Rashid Fayyaz, Director Admin Raees Ahmed, and other officers, along with a large number of local residents, were present.
