LARKANO: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that an incompetent and incapable puppet ruler has been imposed on the people, adding that the PTI government has caused historic damage to the economy.
The PPP Chairman stated this while addressing a prayer gathering on the occasion of 42nd martyrdom anniversary of former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto at Naudero House on Sunday evening.
He said that Imran Khan had promised to create ten million jobs and 5 million houses and questioned somebody tell him a district where Imran Khan has given jobs to people?
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pointed out that the economic situation was not so bad even after we lost half of Pakistan. From independence until the imposition of Imran Khan, Pakistan was never so ruined in economic sector but now our country’s growth rate has turned negative and even far behind Bangladesh and Afghanistan’s, he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that PPP has given autonomy to the provinces, made the people the owners of its resources. But the PTI’s Federal government is not giving the due share to Sindh and other provinces but they are also taunting us why your province is poor. “How will development be possible when provinces are not given their due,” he added.
He also said that the way Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto took away the snatched the rights of the poor from usurpers and gave back them has to be adopted again for the poor to have their rights again. As Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto explained how the usurped rights are snatched back in a democratic way, we have to adopt the same method.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the political strategy. There are ways, one model of parliamentary struggle is used to retrieve the rights back while the other model is the Nine-Star (Nau Sitara) model of 1970’s established dictatorship, which was also adopted by Imran Khan. However, true political and economic freedoms can be achieved by using the ideology of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
He said that all of you are witnesses that we organized public meetings, train marches, rallies and challenged the government. “We were told to leave the parliament, do not participate in the by-elections, boycott the Senate elections but we did not do that and all this happened because of the ideological principles of the PPP,” he said adding that the PTI would have a majority in the Senate today, if our strategy was not applied.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that the PPP proved its strategy right by defeating the government in the Senate and even in the National Assembly. PPP took this responsibility and then told its allies and the whole country that you can defeat Imran Khan and his facilitators by adopting a democratic attitude and democratic style.
PPP Chairman said that PTIMF candidate, who was in fact candidate of all forces was defeated defeated through National Assembly vote. After this victory, the opposition was in a very good position and there was the a planned long march against Imran Khan government. “We could have overthrown the puppet government in Punjab and PTI government could have run away upon reaching Islamabad leading the long march, for which PPP had made huge preparations.
The PPP Chairman expressed surprise that it was beyond his comprehension that when everything was ready, the opposition party started opposing the opposition and forgot about Imran Khan but we are committed to offer stiff opposition to the government as a principled democratic Party.
