Indian army to use robots during CASOs in IOK

New Delhi, November 14, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Indian Army will soon be using robots during cordon and search operations (CASOs) in occupied Kashmir. As per a report, these robots will be helpful in negotiating obstacles to lob grenades at the freedom-fighters inside buildings.

A senior Indian Army officer in an interview said that these robots should be capable of climbing stairs and negotiating obstacles apart from throwing grenades. The Indian Ministry of Defence has already started the process of procuring around 550 robotic surveillance units with minimum 25 years of service life. The ministry has called the Indian industries to make representations of their products about robotics surveillance on November 19.
