Indian barbarism has crossed all limits in IIOJK: Report

Srinagar, September 14, 2020 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people are witnessing unspeakable atrocities as barbarism of Indian forces is at its peak in the territory. An analytical report released by Kashmir Media Service in the wake of surge in military operations in length and breadth of the occupied territory says that India is using torture in a systematic and institutional manner.

Mass killings, enforced disappearances, torture and arrests have increased manifold against the Kashmiris since August 5, last year, it added. The report said that since 5 August 2019 till first week of September 2020, Indian troops killed 237 innocent Kashmiris including 18 in custody.

“Besides killing the Kashmiris, Indian forces tortured and injured 1482, arrested 14042 people and destroyed 956 houses and structures during the period,” the report said and added that the troops were destroying civilian properties, demolishing houses and ransacking belongings to render the people economically handicapped. The report compiled on the basis of interviews of the victims of Indian forces suggests that unending stories of tragedy and trauma are surfacing every other day in IIOJK.

News of brutalities against the Kashmiris is reported on daily basis by the world media. The report referred to several UN reports on Kashmir to lend credence to the findings that Indian forces are involved in widespread violations of human rights in the territory. It cited the killing of over 95000 Kashmiris since 1989 to testify that Indian barbarism has crossed all limits in the occupied territory.

Besides, the BJP led Indian government is using every undemocratic method to fortify its military hold in IIOJK, the report said. For this purpose, thousands of Kashmiris have been kept behind bars under black law Public Safety Act. The fascist Hindu rulers in India, the report adds, are issuing domicile certificates to non-locals to change the IIOJK’s demography.
