Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has begun his first two-day official visit to Pakistan, with the aim of initiating comprehensive talks to significantly strengthen cooperation in wide-ranging areas from defense to technology.
Upon his arrival in Islamabad on Monday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally welcomed President Subianto at Nur Khan Airbase. The distinguished guest was also presented with a 21-gun salute.
President Subianto’s first official visit to the country is taking place at the special invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
The agenda of diplomatic engagements includes extensive discussions on enhancing cooperation in diverse fields such as trade, investment, defense, public health, information technology, and climate change. The talks will also cover educational and cultural exchanges.
Officials stated that Pakistan and Indonesia enjoy close, cordial, and long-standing relations based on shared values and mutual interests.
This high-level visit is seen as a significant opportunity to further consolidate bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, which will play a crucial role in the continuous promotion of the partnership between the two countries.
