Info Minister welcomes Japan’s assistance of $2.16m in fight against coronavirus

Islamabad, May 08, 2020 (PPI-OT): Japanese Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda called on Information Minister Shibli Faraz in Islamabad on Friday. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations. They also discussed prevailing situation in the wake of COVID-19 and lockdown.

Speaking on the occasion, Shibli Faraz said Pakistan gives utmost importance to its relations with Japan. He said Japan has always stood by Pakistan in testing times. The Minister also informed the Japanese Ambassador about government’s decision of gradual relaxation in the lockdown. He said the government paid full attention to the welfare of poor and needy people, while imposing lockdown in the country.

The Minister also thanked the Japanese Ambassador for medical aid of worth 35 million rupees from international Japanese Non-Governmental Organizations as emergency support for deserving families of Mansehra district. He also welcomed Japan’s assistance of 2.16 million dollars in fight against coronavirus pandemic. During the meeting, views were exchanged on further cooperation in various sectors, including upgradation of Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan.
