Injured minor among 21 Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces from West Bank

Jerusalem Israeli forces detained 21 Palestinians, including an injured minor, in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, WAFA news agency reported quoting the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS confirmed that Israeli forces detained eight Palestinians after storming their houses in Hizma town, east of Jerusalem.

WAFA correspondent identified one of the detainees as 15-year-old Ahmad al-Khatib, who was shot and injured by Israeli live fire in his left leg in his hometown of Hizma on April 16.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces rounded up three Palestinians, including a former prisoner who spent 15 years behind Israeli bars, from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

In the northern West Bank, PPS said that five Palestinians were rounded up from Nablus district. Local sources elaborated that Israeli forces raided Nablus city, and detained three Palestinians, including two former prisoners.

Sources added that Israeli military vehicles also raided al-Lubban Ash-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus, where soldiers detained two Palestinian brothers.

A similar Israeli military raid was carried out in the neighboring village of Urif, where soldiers stormed the house of a prisoner’s family and seized several computers and mobile phones.

In Salfit district, PPS confirmed that two Palestinians were rounded up, including a former prisoner who spent nine years in Israeli detention.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained a Palestinian from Deir al-Ghusun town, north of Tulkarem, and two others from Arraba town, south of Jenin.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for wanted Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
