Inspector General of Police Islamabad directs to monitor performance of model police stations

Islamabad, March 16, 2018 (PPI-OT):Inspector General of Police Islamabad Dr. Sultan Azam Temuri has directed to monitor the performance of seven model police stations established in Islamabad and to computerize the record of all police stations.It was stated by him while presiding a meeting held at Central Police Office (CPO)to review the crime and security situation in the city. DIG (Operations and Security) Waqar Ahmad Chohan, SSPOperations Najeeb Ur Rehman Bugvi, SSP Security Jamil Ahmad Hashmi, SP Investigation, all zonal SPs,all SDPOs, SHOs and officials from Legal branch officers were present on the occasion.

The IGP directed for monitoring and supervision of seven model police stations and to make working environment of reporting rooms of remaining 15 Police stations at par with model police stations. He also asked to devise a mechanism for citizens’ feedback about model policing environment of police stations.He said that all existing and future Model Police Stations should have one vacancy oftechnological officer who should be well-versed in latest technological relating to policing functions.

Mr. Temuri directed to follow paper free culture and focus on e-policing besides computerizing police records of all police stations on daily basis. He asked for online registration of First Information Reports and said that 80 percent work at CPO has been made paper free. He said only focus of investigation officers should be to resolve the case on immediate basis.

Islamabad police chief asked for friendly policing environment and serve the people with commitment and dedication. He directed for immediate redressal of complaints and concerns of the people and to seek suggestions from people through social media or what’s App groups.He asked the police officials to adopt zero tolerance policy against social crimes and curb activities of those elements involved in it.The IGP asked for immediate action on cases registered under 489-F PPC, 406-PPC.

Sultan Azam Temuri asked for strict action against those illegally occupying the property of others and provide relief to the citizens. He said that Islamabad Police should launch crackdown against drug mafia in the educational institutions within Islamabad Capital Territory and to launch awareness campaign against drugs and narcotics.

Strict vigilance and monitoring of guest houses within Islamabad Capital Territory should be ensured by Islamabad Police, h said adding that guests staying there would have to be registered themselves through an app introduced for the purpose.Islamabad Police should also prepare a security protocol for the upcoming General Election – 2018. This security protocol should be distributed among all thestakeholders. He also asked to adopt zero tolerance against corrupt officers and those having links withcriminals.

Mr. Temuri directed to immediately resolve the cases or applications received at CPO and forwarded to Operational Division. He said that such cases should be decided on merit and their reply to be submitted within seven days.Special campaign against Proclaimed Offenders and Court Absconders should be launched, he added.The IGP said that immediate action should be ensured on calls received at Rescue-15 and every effort should be made to provide relief to the people.
