Islamabad Police Target Thousands Of Traffic Offenders

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) penalized 2,349 drivers for various infractions during a week-long operation aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow. On the orders of Islamabad Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the ITP focused on reducing traffic violations and enhancing the commuting experience for residents.

The operation addressed a range of offenses. Authorities targeted 1,325 automobiles with improper registration plates, 1,522 motorcyclists without helmets, and 872 illegally parked cars. They also apprehended 872 drivers going the wrong way, 1,077 running red lights, 114 operating without licenses, and 805 failing to observe lane discipline.

Police also impounded 694 cars and 1,655 motorcycles for severe transgressions. Islamabad Chief Traffic Officer, Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider, urged residents to observe traffic regulations and support the ITP’s efforts to enhance traffic management. He emphasized the ITP’s dedication to accident prevention and impartial enforcement.
