Islamabad Talks Second Phase Ready, Security Enhanced for Foreign Delegations

The second phase of the Islamabad Talks is now fully prepared, with robust security measures implemented for incoming foreign delegations, signalling a proactive stance by Pakistan in facilitating diplomatic engagement aimed at reducing regional tensions. This update emerged from a high-level meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iranian Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam in the capital today.

During their session, both officials focused on the logistical and substantive arrangements for the upcoming round of discussions. They collectively underscored the imperative for a lasting resolution to regional disputes through established diplomatic and negotiation channels to alleviate ongoing tensions.

The Interior Minister also provided an overview of his recent visit to Iran to the Ambassador. Ambassador Moghadam acknowledged and commended Pakistan’s constructive and positive contributions towards efforts to de-escalate regional strife.

Mr Naqvi affirmed the enduring brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, spanning decades, noting their significant value.

Furthermore, the Interior Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to resolving the dispute between Iran and the United States through constructive dialogue, emphasising that a durable resolution is paramount for ensuring peace and stability across the region.
