Japan to continue aid for socio-economic projects

Karachi, December 10, 2018 (PPI-OT): The Pakistani people and the government fully acknowledge and appreciate the material and moral support extended by Japan to Pakistan, especially Sindh. This was said by Sindh Minister of Revenue Makhdoom Menboob Uzzama in his address as the chief guest at the Japanese National Day reception held to celebrate the 85 birthday of Emperor Akhito.

He said Pakistan and Japan share an unanimity of views on many issues facing the world and Pakistanis admire the land of Nippon for their hard-working which is why Japan is among the top five economies of the world. Earlier in his address of welcome, the Japanese Consul General, MR. Toshikazu Isomura, said that Emperor Akhito will complete 30 years on the Chrysanthemum throne in January 2019. He added that these years have added to the prosperity of his country.

The Consul General said that Japan would be hosting the World Global Expo Fair 2025 in Osaka. The theme of the 2025 Osaka Expo is ‘Designing Future Society for Our Lives.’ He said this was the second time that Osaka would be hosting the fair. The first Osaka Fair held in 1970 with the theme ‘Progress and Harmony for Mankind.’ The consul general invited Pakistani companies to participate in the six-month long fair which will open in May 2025 and last till 3rd November 2025.

The Consul General said that Japan would continue to support Pakistan in projects that help to improve in the socio-economic uplift of the Pakistani people. The reception was attended by senior government functionaries, members of the diplomatic corps and the elite of the city.
