Jara, Tabina Dams collapse in Balochistan

CHAMAN: Jara and Tabina Dams collapsed due to heavy rains in Toba Achakzai area along Toba Kakar range of mountains in Balochistan, according to a report Saturday.

Due to collapse of both dams, gushing water inundated many localities in the region. The rains have played havoc in Toba Achakzai and its surrounding areas of Zemel Shadizi, Mako Kech, Zemal, Ghabarg, Adozai, and Farakhi.

After the dams’ collapse, the floodwater wiped out cattle, crops and farmlands in the affected areas. It is pertinent to mention here that land connectivity to Toba Achakzai was disconnected from other parts of the country for four days.

As torrential rains and flash floods continued in Balochistan, and second stream of floodwater, has entered in adjacent Qambar-Shahdadkot district and the hilly region of Kachho in Dadu district of Sindh, causing more losses in different areas.
