A prominent religious organization has demanded the immediate formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the deadly fire at Gul Plaza, stating that those responsible for any negligence should not be spared under any circumstances.
The Ulema Mashaikh Federation of Pakistan, a representative body of clerics and scholars from across the country, made this demand on Sunday through its leader, Ambassador of Peace Pir Sahibzada Ahmed Imran Naqshbandi.
Sahibzada Naqshbandi, the Sajjada Nashin of Astana Alia Bheij Pir Jatta, described the fire and the resulting deaths of several individuals as a “human tragedy,” emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation against those responsible for the incident.
The head of the federation expressed deep sorrow and grief over the disaster, stating that the organization shares equally in the sorrow of the bereaved families.
In the end, he prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and for the forgiveness of the deceased.
