JKLF condemns Indian judiciary for upholding party ban

Muzaffarabad, October 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has condemned a Delhi High Court’s decision, which upheld ban on the party in occupied Kashmir saying that Indian judiciary has become a pawn into the hands of the government.

JKLF spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, in a statement issued from Muzaffarabad said that like thousands of illegal and undemocratic decisions against Kashmiri leaders and activists including Mohammed Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru, this decision, too, was a scandalous blow to Indian democracy and the Indian judicial system.

The spokesman rejected the decision to uphold the party’s ban, saying that the judge had given the verdict at the behest of the government, which proved that the Indian judiciary had become a pawn into the hands of the Indian government. He appealed to the international community to take notice of inhuman treatment being meted out to JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, in New Delhi’s Tihar jail and take steps for his release.
