The Pakistan Judo Federation proudly announced , the arrival of Sabrina Filzmoser, a fourtime Olympian and World Judo Medalist, as part of the International Judo Federation’s “Judo for Peace” initiative. Filzmoser’s mission is to promote peace and unity through her expedition across Pakistan, culminating in an ascent of K2.
Filzmoser’s journey begins with a symbolic cycling departure from Sea View, Karachi, on May 22, 2025. She will navigate a challenging route to Skardu and proceed to the K2 Base Camp, from where she plans to start her ascent of the world’s secondhighest peak. Her mission merges sport with environmental advocacy, gender empowerment, and peacebuilding, emphasizing that judo fosters discipline and harmony.
Her advocacy work is wellestablished; in 2023, she cycled from Islamabad to K2 Base CampII, and in 2022, she journeyed to Everest Base Camp, later summiting Mount Everest with the “Judo for Peace” banner. Despite the intense heat, Filzmoser remains committed to her mission, underscoring her message of perseverance.
In her role as honorary Brand Ambassador of Takbeer Judo Club, Filzmoser champions female empowerment through selfdefense. During her expedition, she will visit judo clubs to identify young talent and meet with officials from the Pakistan Olympic Association and Pakistan Sports Board in Islamabad.
