Junior U16 National One-Day Tournament begins next week

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board is organizing U16 National One-Day Tournament in Rawalpindi from 13-23 February.

It will be the High Performance department’s final event of the 2020-21 season.

The squads will assemble in Rawalpindi on 6 February and following training and practice sessions from 7-12 February at the Ayub Park Cricket Ground, will go head to head in a single-league 45-over-a-side tournament from 13 February.

The top-two sides will feature in the final at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on 23 February with the winning side receiving Rs350,000, while the runners-up collecting Rs250,000.

All players will require negative tests in their home towns and will then need another negative result after checking-in in a hotel before being allowed to train, practice and integrate with fellow cricketers.

Players born on or after 1 September 2004 are eligible to participate in the 16-match tournament. The squads have been finalized following open trials held at 18 different venues of the country, details of which were announced on 12 November.
