Karachi authorities seal illegal gas shops and hotels

The Karachi administration, as part of its ongoing campaign against encroachments, has sealed several businesses, including two illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) shops and numerous hotels.

According to details in reports submitted to Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi by various deputy commissioners, ongoing operations on Tuesday also curbed unauthorized constructions and illegal commercial activities across the city.

In District South, actions in the Saddar area resulted in the closure of a hotel and two shops involved in the illegal sale of LPG. According to a report by Deputy Commissioner Javed Nabi Khoso, Assistant Commissioner Saddar Rana Sufyan led the operation. The report also stated that effective monitoring is underway to prevent the re-establishment of encroachments on Mansfield Street and in Bohri Bazaar.

Concurrently, a crackdown in the Liaquatabad sub-division of District Central resulted in the sealing of two hotels, namely New Hazara Jahangir Hotel and Quetta Hotel, as well as a Pukwan Center. Deputy Commissioner Central, Taha Saleem, reported that his teams have also successfully removed obstructions from under the Teen Hatti Liaquatabad bridge.

Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has reviewed the progress reports and has issued directives to all deputy commissioners to maintain the momentum of the campaign against encroachments that obstruct traffic flow.
