Karachi Gul Plaza victim identified through DNA; body handed over to heirs

A young shopkeeper who died in the Gul Plaza tragedy was formally identified on Monday through DNA analysis, after which his body was handed over to the grieving family.

The victim, a 20-year-old from Saddar initially named as Abdul Haseeb son of Abdul Habib, has been definitively identified through DNA as Abdul Haseeb son of Abdul Waheed.

The deceased owned and operated a decoration shop in the Gul Plaza commercial center where the tragic incident occurred.

The young man’s body was handed over to his relatives from the Edhi mortuary in Sohrab Goth on Monday afternoon.
