Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sindh Ameer Kashif Saeed Sheikh has strongly condemned the provincial administration, demanding the Pakistan Peoples Party government to explain how over 2000 billion rupees were spent while the people of Sindh suffer from severe misery and deprivation. He described the situation as the “worst example of poor governance.”
Addressing a meeting at Quba Auditorium, the JI leader lamented that even in this modern era, citizens are deprived of basic necessities like clean drinking water, proper roads, health, and education. He emphasized that this widespread neglect is directly causing the spread of dangerous diseases.
Sheikh specifically pointed out the condition of the provincial capital, stating that Karachi has been “turned into Mohenjo-daro.” He criticized the city’s dilapidated infrastructure, crumbling road network, and the absence of a functional transport system, calling the government’s plan to impose heavy fines on citizens “sheer injustice.”
The JI chief also highlighted the situation in Ghotki, an industrial district, where he claimed the local population is being neglected. He cited this as further proof of government incompetence and injustice towards the people of the province.
These remarks were made during a gathering of allied organizations to plan for an upcoming public rally. Sheikh announced that a Jamaat-e-Islami gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore this November is expected to be historic and appealed to affiliated groups to play their full part in ensuring its success.
The meeting was attended by JI Sindh General Secretary Muhammad Yousuf, Deputy General Secretary Nawab Mujahid Baloch, and provincial officials from lawyers’, laborers’, scholars’, and student organizations, who discussed strategies for mobilizing public participation for the event.
