Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that after a 12-year hiatus, the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases has resumed the installation of permanent pacemakers, successfully placing the first pacemaker in a patient.

According to a KMC statement on Saturday, we are now able to offer almost all cardiac procedures at K.I.H.D, including elective PCI, primary PCI, and angiography. The non-invasive department is also providing comprehensive services to patients. These facilities had been closed for ten to twelve years, and I commend and applaud the executive director of the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases, Professor Dr. Riffat, and her team, including cardiologists and doctors, for restarting them.
