Sindh Interior Minister congratulates Karachi East Police on dismantling inter-provincial arms sale network

Sindh Interior Minister, Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjhar, today praised the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East, and their respective teams.

that Karachi Police successfully dismantled a large inter-provincial arms supply network, seizing over 100 modern weapons, while a prominent criminal wanted for multiple serious crimes was also eliminated in a separate operation.

This significant achievement came when District East Police apprehended a large-scale syndicate involved in supplying weapons across provinces.

This operation resulted in the seizure of over one hundred modern firearms.

In a separate incident, an accused was killed last night during an encounter with police near Society Graveyard.

The deceased criminal was identified as Adil Mehmood, from whom a pistol and a motorcycle were recovered.

Mr. Mehmood was a wanted individual, sought by law enforcement agencies in numerous incidents of robbery, motorcycle theft, and snatching cash.

He also had arrests related to robbery, motorcycle theft, and illegal possession of arms.

Just yesterday, the same accused had indiscriminately fired upon a citizen in his vehicle during an attempted robbery on Shahrah-e-Faisal Road.

The citizen also sustained injuries as a result of indiscriminate firing while resisting the robbery.
