Karachi University’s 33rd Convocation Held – Degrees and Honors Distributed among Graduating Students

Karachi University’s 33rd convocation was held at the Karachi Expo Center under the chairmanship of Sindh Governor and Chancellor Kamran Khan Tessori. Graduating students of the 2023 academic year were awarded degrees and honors at the ceremony. The university’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmoud Iraqi, welcomed the Governor and expressed gratitude for his participation.

Tessori emphasized the significance of the day for the families who supported the graduates. He congratulated the students, faculty, and families and expressed his pleasure at attending the event. Before departing for Hyderabad, he reminded the graduates to appreciate their parents’ contribution to their success. He encouraged them to dedicate their acquired skills to national development and pledged to use their education for the betterment of society. He especially praised the female medalists.

The Governor advised the graduates to utilize their modern education for the country’s economic and social development, emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and human rights. He urged them to avoid envy and despair, linking negative thinking to disbelief and highlighting its detrimental effects on society.

At the convocation, 7,248 students from various disciplines were awarded graduation, masters, and honors degrees. 60 students received PhDs, 32 received MPhil, and 244 students were awarded gold medals for exceptional performance. Furthermore, one student was awarded a DSc in Chemistry, one an MS in Gynecology, and one an MS in Operative Dentistry.
