Kashmiri people have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for freedom

Islamabad, November 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Speaker of National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Deputy Speaker Zahid Akram Durrani have said that the people of Kashmir have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for freedom. The forces of Dogra Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian Army and Hindu fanatics had martyred hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris in different parts of Jammu region when they were migrating to Pakistan during the first week of November in 1947.

Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Zahid Akram Durrani expressed these views in their separate messages on the eve of Jammu Martyrs’ Day, which is observed every year on November 6 with devotion and respect. They said that the blood of Kashmiris martyred by Indian forces would not go waste and the day was not far when the people of Kashmir would secure their birth right to self-determination.

They said that the Kashmir dispute was an incomplete agenda of the partition of the subcontinent and without its settlement permanent peace in South Asia was impossible. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker urged the international community to take serious notice of the atrocities committed by India in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and help end the human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.

Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Zahid Durrani said Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people’s struggle for self-determination in every forum, morally, politically and diplomatically. There is a determination for a peaceful solution and the Parliament has passed several resolutions to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and to stop the atrocities committed by the Indian forces in the occupied territory, they maintained.
