KCEU Chairman meets Pakistan’s HR Minister in Brussels

Brussels, April 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), Ali Raza Syed, met Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Human Rights, Dr Shireen Mazari, in Brussels, who is on a visit to Belgium these days. During the meeting, they discussed Kashmir dispute particularly the human rights situation in occupied Kashmir.

Ali Raza Syed informed the minister about the activities being carried out by the KCEU in Europe to highlight the Kashmir dispute specially awareness moves of the Council concerning human rights violations committed by the Indian forces in the occupied territory.

Ali Raza Syed said KCEU’s activities in Europe including annual Kashmir EU Week at the EU Parliament, various seminars, conferences and exhibitions on Kashmir continued during the year. “Our objective is to update the Europeans specially EU’s policy-making and legislative institutions regarding latest situation of human rights in occupied Kashmir,” he added.

Ali Raza Syed told Shireen Mazari that Kashmiris had been facing the Indian atrocities for last over seven decades and the EU should use its influence on India to stop crimes against the humanity in Kashmir. Beside other programmes, one million signature campaign in favour of the Kashmiris’ rights is also an extra-ordinary initiative started by KCEU in Europe, he added.

Pakistani Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari appreciated the KCEU’s activities on Kashmir in Europe and said Pakistan has grave concerns on the human rights violations being perpetrated by the Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. She said Pakistan will continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir in their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
